Belknap Collection, Theatre 1870- : Burlesque.

This collection includes a large number of playbills and heralds dating from actual burlesque theatre of the 1870s to modern American shows saluting historic burlesque. In addition to the playbills and programs there are photographs, press releases, clippings, burlesque songster collections, and broadside advertisements for shows. Special subjects include female impersonators, Folies-Bergère and other French productions, a program from Michael Todd's "Peep Show" and miscellaneous publications on the history of burlesque.
